물리학과 특별세미나 개최 안내

물리학과에서는 응집물리실험-광학분야 특별세미나를 아래와 같이 개최하오니 관심있는 분들의 많은 참석을 바랍니다.

1. 연사: 이길호 박사 (Department of Physics, Harvard University)

2. 일시: 2016. 12. 5(월), 오후 2시 30분

3. 장소: 공학3동 201호 (세미나실)

4. 제목: Topological Superconductivity in Quantum Hall-Superconductor

Hybrid Structure

Understanding interplay between the superconductor (SC) and the quantum Hall (QH) phase has been a long-sought theoretical and experimental problem in condensed matter physics. Particularly, QH-SC hybrid structure has been suggested as a new kind of platform to study emergent excitations of non-Abelian anyons. We achieved to induce superconducting correlations into QH edge states by adopting the in-situ etching technique for highly transparent NbN superconducting contacts to the graphene channel encapsulated by h-BN. The high critical field of NbN electrodes (Hc2~25T) and the high quality of the graphene allow us to experimentally access a wide range of magnetic field and temperature where superconductivity and (fractional) QH effect coexist. I will discuss the experimental observation and various properties of such QH-SC hybrid system, in terms of a unique platform for realizing universal and scalable to pological quantum computers.
