The Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) is seeking outstanding scholars for tenure-track or tenured faculty positions beginning in the 2015 academic year. Applicants must have the ability to establish a strong research program on the X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL) which is currently under construction on campus and expected to be completed in 2016, and/or utilizing it, especially, in interdisciplinary fields. The successful candidates could be appointed jointly in multiple departments. Preference will be given to applicants with postdoctoral experience in:

(1) Physics or Materials Science based on XFEL

(2) Structure Biology or Membrane Biology using XFEL or

(3) Developing an interdisciplinary research program using XFEL.

 

The position and salary will be commensurate with a candidate’s experience and records. POSTECH is building a culturally diverse body of faculty, students and staff. Non-Korean citizens are encouraged to apply.

 

Qualifications

Candidates are invited from individuals who have earned a doctoral degree in Science or Engineering and who are able to conduct pioneering and interdisciplinary research on XEFL and/or utilizing it. The ideal candidates should have an eager to nurture students to become future global leaders through excellent education and high-quality training. Faculty members are expected to teach, in English, undergraduate and graduate courses, and to supervise graduate students.

(1) a curriculum vitae including the list of publications,

(2) a statement of education/research in the past, and plan in the future, and

(3) three letters of reference with their contact information.

포항공과대학교(포스텍)는 국내 유일의 3세대 방사광가속기를 보유하고 있으며, 획기적인 연구환경을 제공할 4세대 방사광가속기 (X-ray Free Electron Laser, XFEL)를2016년 완공을 목표로 건설 중입니다.  XFEL을 이용한 융합연구를 선도하고 글로벌 리더를 양성하여 세계적인 대학으로 발전하고자 하는 포스텍의 노력에 적극 동참하실 수 있는 분을 본교 전임 교수로 초빙하고자 합니다.

- X-선 Free Electron Laser를 이용한 연구 및 융합연구 분야

-융합연구 분야의 경우, 관련 학과에 공동임용 (Joint Appointment) 가능

-박사학위 소지자로서 사립학교 교원임용에 결격사유가 없는 자

-영어강의 가능한 자

-임용일을 기준으로 박사학위 취득 후 XFEL 분야 연구경력 있는 자 또는 아래 분야 전공자

우대
